At our clinic we have one of the greatest experience with the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) by low intensity focussed shock waves, not only within the Czech Republic, but worldwide. This treatment method has been approved since 2013 by the European Urologic Association as the appropriate method of first choice of ED treatment. Dr.Igor Motil, a pioneer of this method, has later on developed and introduced a method of complex tissue coverage (LSTC-ED®) as well as an unique treatment algorithm for tailor-made treatment. In cooperation with Elvation / R.Wolf, we have opened the EURED Center, which serves also as an exclusive training center for physicians from around the world who are interested in performing ED treatment with LSTC-ED®.
In the past, we have had the chance to test most of the devices currently certified for the treatment of ED by low energy focused shockwaves and the final decision was made on Piezowave² produced by the German manufacturer R. Wolf GmbH.
Answers to the question "Why?"are listed below:
R. Wolf is a spirit of excellence
Richard Wolf GmbH is a famous German manufacturer with whose excellent products (surgical endoscopes, laparoscopes) we have personal, long-lasting and very good experience.
Linear application + Unique LiST by LSTC-ED ® technique
The Piezowave² uses a linear probe to apply the shock wave on a larger surface, not just in a point, as is the case with most competing devices. In addition, the Piezowave² uses the unique "Double-Layer-Technology" for higher efficacy.
The above mentioned combination of technological features of the Piezowave² probe has enabled us to develop our own, unique and patented treatment method called “Linear Shockwave Tissue Coverage ” (LSTC-ED®), which guarantees a perfect coverage of the entire penile tissue by shock waves and thus better treatment results.
3rd Generation
Piezowave² produces a piezoelectric shock waves. The first devices produced SW on an electrohydraulic principle, later on electromagnetic, and the latest generation is the piezoelectric SW technology. This allows shortening the treatment procedure while maintaining the amount of applied energy and applying it to the target organ linearly. In addition, piezoelectric technology is extremely reliable and the probe has up to 5 times longer lifetime compared to electromagnetic or electrohydraulic technology. Combining these parameters, Piezowave², is by our opinion, currently the most suitable device for the treatment of ED with a low-energy shock wave..
Significant angiogenesis
There is an extensive and a very good experience in the treatment of non-healing wounds with Piezowave² device. In these cases the role of angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels and consequently the improvement of blood circulation) plays a key role as well as in the treatment of ED.
